Cellular Imaging Core

Dear Cellular Imaging Core Researchers,

The core is open to provide training for current & new researchers on the core's instruments. Please fill out this Instrument Training Request form and core staff will get back to you regarding training.

All training is provided either via a live remote training session, in-person training session, or via courses on NetLearning. Please look for course enrollment emails for instrument training sent by NetLearning in your BCH email.

If you have any questions or encounter issues during your session please feel free to email Harry @ (Harry.Cramer@childrens.harvard.edu).

*If something breaks during your imaging session, please notify us. Broken components may affect many researchers across hundreds of labs. It's critical that we know ASAP so that it can be fixed or replaced in a timely manner.

Sincerely,
Harry Cramer

Overview of Services

The Cellular Imaging Core (CIC) provides investigators with affordable access to state-of the-art microscopy and powerful image-analysis software. We offer free training and consultation services to achieve optimal images for individual research goals. Located mainly in Center for Life Sciences building, the core continuously explores new technologies, and has invested heavily in new equipment and image analysis software. We are committed to maintaining this core as a central resource for neuroscience research at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

Unauthorized Usage (unscheduled or untrained usage)

The Cellular Imaging Core (CIC) provides researchers access to our instruments. However, all researchers must:

1. be trained by core staff in operating the instrument in question

2. be trained by core staff in how to properly disinfect the instrument in question

3. report all usage of the instruments via an accurate booking on the iLabs calendar

Failure of any of these rules may be met with revoked access to core instruments.

Example Language for citing the core in your manuscript's acknowledgment section:

“We thank the IDDRC Cellular Imaging Core, funded by NIH P50 HD105351”
