Overview of Services

Research imaging has developed unprecedented capabilities to probe the mechanisms that underlie disease, new imaging techniques that enhance the detection and characterization of disease, and innovative interventions for the treatment of disease. Our research activities span a broad spectrum—from fundamental contributions in basic science through translational research that has brought innovations into everyday practice, to clinical research that is revolutionizing our ability to prevent, diagnose, treat and monitor disease.

The Research Imaging Core at Boston Children's Hospital was created to help the research community conduct imaging safely and efficiently, and as a resource for investigators utilizing new or unfamilar Radiology resources.

The core facilitates the approval and execution of research imaging exams for all modalities. Other services offered include imaging protocol development, quality assurance testing, data transfer and storage on FlyWheel, and training in the use of various research equipment and facilities. For questions, please email:
